Your journey to Nag Tibba will begin from Dehradun, we will pick you from Prince chowk at 6 in the morning. We will drive upwards from Dehradun to Pantwari village. The road passes through Mussoorie and Kempty falls, we will take a short break here for a light breakfast. Then we will drive along the Yamuna river and from Nainbagh we will turn towards Nag Tibba road and reach Pantwari by noon.
Pantwari is the last place where you will have a network. There we will have lunch, rest for a while then head towards Camp 1. The trek begins from the end of a motorable road, till there we will reach by driving. We will begin trekking through a well defined cemented path then cross a rocky trail. On your way you will find 2-3 water points, the first one, which is a reservoir of stream water, will come after 15 minutes of trekking. You can fill your water bottles here and take short breaks then resume with trekking.
After around 30 minutes of trekking, we will come across a cluster of thatched roofed huts, that is a small village on a cliff lined with terrace farmlands. During the harvest season these stretches are yellow and green. You can also see the Pantwari village from here. Before reaching the ridge you will come across ‘Goat Village’ which is an eco tourism resort.
After a while, the rocky mountain path leads into a dense patch of oak and rhododendron trees, and the steep climb starts to even out. The next landmark on the trek is an isolated Shepherd hut by a stretch of farmland, from here our campsite is a 5-10 minutes walk. The campsite area is a small clearing with the forest background and a rolling valley. From here you can witness the clouds smoke rising from beneath the gulf just in front of the campsite. It is a mesmeric experience. You can witness a beautiful evening sky and then have dinner at the campsite. At night you can enjoy a beautiful night sky. Then rest for the next day.

Today is the day we will visit the Nag Tibba summit. We will begin early in the morning as it is going to be a long day ahead. We will have a quick breakfast in the morning then begin trekking towards the top. The trail begins with a thick forest cover. During the winters these trees and trails are enveloped with snow that makes the trek a little challenging otherwise the trails are well defined. After a 20-30 minutes of trekking from the camp on the forest trail, we will reach two open patches of land.
From here the trek is almost a level walk on very gentle undulations till Nag Devta temple. Nag Devta temple will mark the base of the Nag Tibba hill and it is on the third clearing that you will come across. On a clear sky day you can see the Garhwal range from here.
The trek continues from here into the forest on a steep incline, likely to be submerged in snow during winters. This part of the trek really raises the bar for challenge but also makes the journey more fulfilling.
As you get closer to the summit, the trail will turn through a ridge and finally take you to the flag marking, Nag Tibba summit. The views from the summit brings us face to face with the Garhwal Himalayas, with an amazing view. The canvas of the sky lights up with ice capped ranges of Bandarpoonch, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Kala Nag, and more.
You can spend a while at the summit, admiring the views or capturing them. Then we will make our way down by the same trail. Lunch will be at the camp.
After lunch we will descend to Pantwari, from Pantwari it is again a 5-6 hour drive to Dehradun, where you can stay for the night or resume with your further journey.
